“Every year I try to see how good of a yield I can make and how productive we can be. No two years are the same,” he said. “One year, it can go your way and be great. The next year, Mother Nature can get in the way, and that can make it tough sometimes.”

In Stoddard County, Missouri, Jennifer McMeans stands out in a field where grit and determination are second nature. Growing up on her family farm, Jennifer’s story is deeply rooted in agriculture—a life she's known since she was a little girl riding on a tractor.

Paul Hooks’ connection to Prairie County runs deep. His great-grandfather started their farming operation at the turn of the 19th century. Today, Paul and his brother Dan operate under Wolf Creek Farms, Inc., established in the early 1980s.

Brothers Jeff and Terry Boothe are not conventional multi-generational farmers. Growing mostly medium-grain rice in Lawrence County, the Boothes have leveraged on-farm storage to get the most out of their crop.
